The Air Intelligence Unit has apprehended an accused with gold dust worth Rs 1.88 crore in his possession.
According to the AIU, the accused, Ahmed Khan, was moving towards the exit of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, however during a search the police found four packets gold dust hidden in his undergarment.
The police found 3,720 grams worth Rs 1.88 crore in Khan's possession.
"Voluntary statement of the respondent/accused was recorded on October 14, wherein the accused has admitted his involvement in the smuggling activity and has also admitted that smuggling gold in any form without declaration and without payment of duty is an offense punishable under the Customs Act," the AIU said in the court statement while seeking 14 days custody of the alleged accused.

Ahmed Khan is aged 34, he is a driver and a resident of the city. He has been booked under the relevant sections of the Customs Act.
