The Bangur Nagar police have finally arrested the driver who allegedly fled with Rs 47 lakh from the businessman. According to the police sources, the accused has been identified as Sharanpa alias Sachin Kurhade and was caught from Madhya Pradesh a couple of days back, but the stolen amount has been not recovered yet.
The complainant is a businessman from Pune. In July 2021, he came to Malad to buy some land. As his driver fell ill, the accused Sachin started working as a replacement driver.
After landing in Malad from Pune, they had gone to a hotel for breakfast. He then left a bag containing Rs 47 lakh in the car. After some time, the complainant called and asked Sachin to get the car ready he told the complainant that he would bring the car down. He stole the bag containing Rs 47 lakh from the vehicle under the pretext of bringing it out and he parked the car at the back of the hotel and fled.
The complainant was waiting for Sachin. As Sachin did not bring the vehicle, the complainants started searching for the vehicle he saw the car parked at the back of the hotel he did not see the bag of money in the car then the complainant rushed to Bangur Nagar police station said an officer.

We registered the case against Sachin, said Assistant Inspector of Police Amar Dhenge, who started the investigation under the guidance of Inspector of Police in charge Jyoti Bhopal.
During the investigation, it was revealed that accused after stealing the money, he called his wife. He then fled to Pune, and later from Pune to Madhya Pradesh, Solapur and Karnataka. The police were on his trail. During the investigation, the police got information about Sachin. After learning that he was coming to the Malad area, the police set a trap and arrested him on January 13 was produced in court and the court remanded him to police custody, added Dhenge.
