The Kurar police booked a 30-year-old man who allegedly killed his 25-year-old wife with a knife last night in the Laxmi Nagar area of Malad East.
The accused, later, tried to kill himself by hanging by the ceiling fan at his residence. The police rushed to the spot and rescued him after locals sounded alert. He was admitted to a hospital and his condition is reportedly, critical.
According to the Kurar police, the incident occurred in Laxmi Nagar On December 20 at around 8 pm. The accused called his wife Sheetal to his residence where they had an argument. In a fit of rage, he stabbed her with a knife multiple times and she died on spot. Later, he tried to kill himself by hanging with the ceiling fan. In the meantime, his neighbours reached the spot and they alert the police.
"We rushed to the spot and save the accused by breaking the door rushed him to the Shatabdi hospital for treatment, his condition is critical," said an officer from the Kurar police station.

During the investigation is was found that the accused and the deceased were living separately for six months. They tied the knot four years ago but did not have any children.
Sheetal had moved back to her mother's place after their separation. Due to this, the couple would get into frequent fights.
Cops have booked the accused Tanaji Kamble for the murder of his wife.
