A 20-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in Maharashtra's Kalyan city in the district for allegedly molesting a 12-year-old girl while his elder sister was also arrested for allegedly abetting the crime, the police said, reported the PTI.
On August 26, when the girl was playing outside her home, the man allegedly called her, and when she went into his house, he allegedly molested her, according to the PTI.
His sister allegedly videographed the act before the girl escaped from the house, senior inspector Mahendra Deshmukh of Kolsewadi police station told the PTI.
On her parents' complaint, a case was registered under Indian Penal Code section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intention of outraging her modesty) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

Meanwhile, the police on Monday arrested a man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy in the toilet of a mall at Vashi in Navi Mumbai, an official told news agency PTI.
The incident took place on Sunday evening when the boy visited the mall with his friends, the official told PTI.
The 25-year-old accused, who is an auto-rickshaw driver, took the boy to a toilet located on the mall's ground fall where he sexually assaulted him, inspector Sanjay Nale from Vashi police station told PTI.
The boy later managed to escape and informed his parents about the incident.
His family approached the police with a complaint and the accused was arrested, the official said.
The accused was booked under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official told PTI.
In an another incident, the Navi Mumbai police have registered a case against a man for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl repeatedly following which she became pregnant, an official told PTI on Monday.
According to PTI, the police said the accused, from Kamothe in Navi Mumbai, and the victim got in touch with each other through social media platform Instagram in January 2021 and had an affair.
The accused allegedly raped the girl repeatedly at his residence following which she became pregnant in May 2023, an official from Kamothe police station told PTI.
