Five men have been arrested from Nalasopara town in Palghar district of Maharashtra for allegedly possessing MD drug worth Rs 21 lakh which they purchased from a local supplier, police said on Tuesday, the PTI reported.
The police on Monday raided a flat in Central Park locality on a tip-off that some persons from Rajasthan would be arriving there to purchase drugs, a senior police officer told reporters. 210 gm of MD drug was seized, according to the PTI.
The main accused, who sold drugs, is on the run.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

Further investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, the Mumbai Police's Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) had seized drugs including MD worth Rs 43 lakh during a special drive in the first week of August.
The police had arrested seven persons who were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
"The drive was conducted in Kandivali, Sakinaka and Mazgaon areas from Wednesday to Saturday, and different types of drugs including Codeine Phosphate cough syrup, tablets and mephedrone (MD) besides Rs 3.5 lakh in cash were seized," he said.
"The drive was conducted by Azad Maidan and Ghatkopar units of ANC," the official added.
"Since the beginning of this year, the ANC has arrested 17 people involved in the trafficking of cough syrups and recovered 1,191 kg of contraband. As many as 98 people were arrested in 49 cases where MD worth Rs 22.82 crore was seized," the official said.
In an another incident, the police had arrested a Nigerian national in Maharashtra's Navi Mumbai and seized from him mephedrone or MD drug worth around Rs 10 lakh, an official told news agency PTI on Saturday.
The accused was arrested at Kopar Khairane on Friday night, he said.
"Based on a tip-off, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Navi Mumbai police laid a trap at a parking spot in Kopar Khairane and nabbed the accused around 9 pm," the police official told PTI.
The accused, identified as 31-year-old Nnachor Paul, was found carrying 100 grams of the MD drug, the police official told PTI.
Following this, he was formally arrested and an offence under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against him, reported PTI.
