Ajay Singh
The Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which arrested Ajay Raju Singh, 50, alias Mamu on Saturday, has learnt that he peddled drugs using code words such as bullet/capsule and was also known to his customers for supplying âpure' drugs. There were also three categories in this, called blue, green or black bullets/capsules.
According to the NCB, Singh sold drugs to high-profile people and his customers were also fixed. If they wanted pure drugs then they had to choose the blue bullet/capsule, for medium grade drugs it was the green bullet/capsule and for low grade drugs it was the black bullet/capsule.
NCB officials said Singh sold mephedrone (MD) and cocaine, and according to their quality, he fixed the prices. For cocaine in the blue bullet/capsule, the cost of one gram was Rs 10,000 to Rs 12,000 because the drugs in these bullets weren't adulterated. For one gram MD in the blue bullet/capsule, the cost was Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000.
Cocaine sold in the green bullet is not completely pure so its cost was Rs 8,000 to Rs 10,000. The MD sold in the green bullet ranged from Rs 1,500 to Rs 1,800. The cocaine sold in the black bullet/capsules ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000. The MD in the name of black bullet was priced between Rs 700 and Rs 1,000.

An NCB source told mid-day that Singh has been booked under NDPS Act even before this, so he is aware of what quantity of drugs are considered commercial. He always keeps less than that quantity with him, so if legal action is taken, he does not have to spend much time in jail.
Nwachiyaao Israel Nwachukwu, a Nigerian national who supplied drugs to Singh, was also arrested by NCB from Aarey Colony. The cocaine comes from Colombia.
An NCB official told mid-day, "The NCB has arrested Ajay Singh alias Mamu and obtained important information from his WhatsApp chats in which it has found that he used to sell drugs through codewords. The NCB will send Mamu's mobile phone to the forensic lab for examination."
