32-year-old nabbed in Malvani for chain snatching

The Malvani police have held a 32-year-old man for allegedly snatching a gold chain off a woman in the wee hours January 1.

The accused has been identified as Feroze Ibrahim Sheikh and the victim as Geeta Sharma.

Sharma was walking along Malvani Lagoon Road when snatched her gold chain. The incident was reported to the Malvani police and was solved within eight hours as they nabbed the accused and recovered the property.

Feroze Ibrahim Sheikh is a sweeper living Malvani. During the interrogation he revealed that he is unemployed and committed the crime to afford his rent.

He has been arrested under the charges of robbery and was produced before the court which remanded him in judicial custody.
