Nitrogen is enjoying a moment in the city's bar scene, making its way to exclusive drinks menus. Here's where you can find your fix of the element

Nitro-infused beers
Olive Bistro has created a new Nitro Menu featuring nitrogen-infused drinks. Their experiments include a Nitro Cold Brew Coffee, Nitro Bomb - white and dark rum, Coke and lemon pumped with nitrogen; and beer cocktails infused with nitrogen such as Caffeine Beer, Primator English Pale Ale and Primator Oatmeal Stout. "The Caffeine Beer has normal beer mixed with our own cold brew, put in a jar and charged with nitrogen. The machine mellows the bitterness of the coffee and complements the beer. So, you get beer with a hint of bean. It works out to be a perfect hangover drink," says Eric Lobo, corporate beverage head.

If you've enjoyed sunsets on Carter Road's promenade in Bandra, here's your chance to enjoy a different kind of sunset. Sunset at Carter is a cocktail on the MasalaBar menu that features rosemary-infused whiskey and almond foam. "The foam is made with cream, almond syrup, egg white, and nitrogen infused in an ISI siphon. When nitrogen is mixed in the siphon, it helps to turn that liquid into a foam, which has the same flavour as the syrup or any concoction," says Aman Dua, head mixologist, Massive Restaurants.

An ale that's dark and smooth
To celebrate three years of being in the craft beer business, the Gateway Brewing Company (GBC) created a Dark Horse Black Indian Pale Ale. "The brew combines a firm bitterness and hop aroma of an IPA and the roastiness of a stout," says Navin Mittal, co-owner at GBC. The drinks is served with Nitrogen for extra smoothness.
