Hunger pangs can strike at any time, particularly during stressful work days. Instead of indulging in junk food, we've been discovering the wonders of homemade, healthy granola bars.
Nutty Bar
The latest in our collection are healthy bars and bites from Nutritio. The venture was started by Kadambari Gupte and her mother-in-law Supriya Patkar in February. The Vashi-based duo makes everything fresh, once an order is placed.
Choco Coco
We sampled all of their offerings. The sticky Bumble Rumble Berry was our favourite. The slightly sour, chikki-like bar was packed with berries - dried cranberry, blueberry and mulberry. Our chocolate obsession was satiated by the Choco Coco, which had cocoa powder as a substitute for chocolate and almonds. It was crunchy and tasty with a sticky sweetness from dates.
Supriya Patkar
The Nutty Bar was suitably crunchy and filling. It was stuffed with almonds, walnuts, cashew and pistachio. The Mix Seeds bar had pumpkin, sunflower, and chia seeds with dates and oats. It had the overwhelming taste of til (sesame seeds), reminding us of til ke laddoos, but didn't get a thumbs-up from us.

All the bars are sugar-free - organic honey is added for sweetness; dates or oats are used as a binding agent, and can be customised. Nutritio also makes mini bars, weighing about 20 gm. The bars stay for three weeks if refrigerated or stored in a cool and dry place.
