A trip to Texas
Settling into the cushy sofas, we poured over an extensive menu serving a fusion of American and Mexican cuisine, popularly known as Tex-Mex cuisine. To cater to a wider audience, Indian Chicken Tikka and Italian Mix Sauce Pasta also featured on the menu. We chose to tuck into their theme cuisine.

Texas Veg Nachos
With generous portions that would feed three, Texas Veg Nachos (Rs 410) and Texas Veg Toastadas (Rs 350) were a hit. Unlike the regular tortilla-and-cheese sauce variety, the nachos packed in veggies, cheese, beans, sour cream, pesto and crunchy cottage cheese chunks too. Meanwhile, caramelised onions added a sweet touch to toastadas, that were otherwise infused with the same nacho flavours.
With a strong flavour of smoked barbeque sauce, the Sweet and Smoky Chicken Wings (Rs 395) were melt-in-the-mouth. The South West Style Ribs (Rs 415), which carried a hint of sweetness in the succulent glazed pork, were polished off within minutes. Stuffed with refried beans, bell peppers and tangy flavours, Veg Burritos (Rs 325), accompanied by garden salad and crispy French fries, were a veggie's delight. We washed them down with the refreshing Basil Passion Fizz (Rs 190), a sweet-and-sour lime drink with hints of the herb.
The rodeo bull ride at the restaurant
Burger bonanza
While we liked the idea of a beans patty in the Mexicali Veggie Burger (Rs 425), it lacked a distinct flavour. The highlight of the meal was Jumbo Beef Burger (Rs 545). The double-decker burger was stuffed with soft, well-done carabeef steaks, oodles of cheese and Romaine lettuce. A must-try. We wound up our Texan trail with the richly flavoured American Baked Cheesecake (Rs 299) topped with a sweet strawberry coulis. With a refreshingly different theme and indulgent portion sizes, we'd love to get a slice of the West again, more so, for that pending rodeo bull ride.
Opens on: December 9, 12 noon to 1 am
