Kavita Seth to take to stage for a charity concert to celebrate her mentor and late husband's birth anniversary
Juggling recordings for Bollywood films, live shows and independent projects makes Kavita Seth's diary a busy one. But she ensures she keeps it free in the month of June, to prepare for an annual tradition. Anandotsav, which she organised every year to celebrate the birth anniversary of her late husband and guru, KK Seth, who passed away in 2011.
The Prem Mein Tohre singer is understandably excited about the musical event, scheduled tomorrow. "I celebrate, and not mourn, June, the month of Mr Seth's birth anniversary. Since 2012, we have been holding a grand event in his memory. He was my mentor and biggest support. I miss him. He was my best teacher. I wish he was around," shares Seth.
Several musicians from across the world will join the singer for the show as she performs renditions of poetry by divine mystics, Meera and Kabir. "We started preparing for it two months ago. While this year, it's Kabir and Meera, the previous editions featured Amrita Pritam and Ghalib's poetry. Besides poetry, I will also be performing some Sufi renditions," says Seth, adding that proceeds from the event will be donated to Dharma Bharati Mission, which works towards making India hunger-free.
