Vedant himself being a young mind, rolled up his sleeves and introduced the most successful water conservation initiative lately in India, along with his friend Yusuf Soni. These two individuals decided to be the water heroes with their mission of saving 40,000 litres of water everyday.
Water is the most essential resource of life, and since years water conservation campaigns are being held, in response to the water pollution, scarcity of water for sustainable living in many places on the face of earth. In the times of crisis, planning and careful management of the resource is required to conserve it for the coming generations. "Though the shortage of the resource, doesn't affect us directly, we wanted a take step ahead and initiate a water campaign that practically saves water everyday, and what could be a better starting point than educating the future of the nation", says Vedant Goel.
This water conservation initiative of Vedant Goel, and his friend has already reached milestones and is being practised by lakhs of school children. The proposed initiative had a simple course of action for the school students to empty the leftover water from their bottles in a drum before leaving the school. This way, around 1.3 lacs of contributed their efforts in this water conservation initiative and successfully saved at least 40,000 litres of water everyday that can help the janitors use it for cleaning toilets, watering plants and washing vehicles or other sustainable purposes.
Vedant explains that this peculiar initiative was proposed to educate the children how every drop counts and inspiring them on how taking simple steps can make bigger difference and makes the world a better place to live for present and future generations to come. And soon, the initiative was adopted by many schools in several parts of Maharashtra, and other states around, making Vedant the "Water Dada".
With his efforts and aura of brilliance, the water dada has already influenced millions of people of the nation and is now marching ahead to other states and taking up this water conservation initiative to the national level, spreading awareness of its big picture and achieving further milestones of saving tons of water everyday, and to prepare more young minds of the nations on conservation of water and sustainable living.
