Now, Twitter has unveiled a new feature where users can 'Mute' abusive/offensive language or content in their notifications. It is expected to be rolled out sometime in the recent future.

Twitter has decided to introduce this feature since the instances of online bullying and abuse on social media has sharply increased over the over the past few years. Since Twitter is a real-time platform it's hard to track such content all the time.

According to Twitter's blog post, the company wants to provide users with a way to avoid abusive content. Any post pertaining to general abuse, harassment, stalking, bullying among others can be muted without any issue.
