Lesbians and Bisexuals in Action (LABIA), formerly Stree Sangam, is a voluntary collective of lesbian and bisexual women and transpersons. The aim of the collective continues to be to provide support to members of the queer community.
On Saturday, to mark three years since the Delhi High Court passed a judgment to strike down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which criminalised sexual activity "against the order of nature" LABIA will release the fourteenth edition of Scripts, its annual journal based on the theme of food.
"Food defines what a community is; it makes people belong and it âotherises' people," says Chayanika, co-founder, LABIA. "We're also looking at belonging, connections and re-connections to food," she adds.u00a0Highlights include the premiere of Stir. Fry. Simmer, a 52-minute film by Vani Subramanian on food, memory, nostalgia and nation.
