Head to Delhi Masala for options to beat the summer heat

It's a dilemma we face often when we step out with family -- you prefer Dal makhni and Naan, while your kids want Spring rolls or Dim sum. But finally, we found a solution to this problem, in the form of a culinary hub in the Capital that offers a menu that suits everyone's taste. Delhi Masala is a relaxed multi-cuisine restaurant that has dishes to woo everyone's tastebuds.

Global mix

On the platter is Mughlai for the main course while starters comprise Italian and Chinese for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The new summer menu comprises quenchers and spirits to welcome the heat in style. To keep you light and fresh in the soaring temperature, the restaurant has used the season's freshest ingredients and vegetables. One can choose from specialities such as the chilled yogurt, tomato and cucumber soup, Kairi murg tikka marinated in tangy raw mango and Palak corn tikkies.u00a0

Quench your thirst
One cannot miss the summer chillers that they are offering. One can sip anything from Melon duet and Badam thandai or special fruit cocktails and mocktails like Coco loco and Cherry brandy to chill out. We opted for Caribbean breeze and smoother which was made of beet root, carrots, honey instead of sugar and lime to give that tangy hint to the drink. Bel (wood apple) not only acts as a coolant but also is excellent for stomach. So I even ordered Bel sharbat, which acted as an icing on cake. We teamed the drinks with a selection from the tandoori khazana -- the veg kebab platter, which included assortments like Paneer tikka, Paneer zafrani, Bhutee ke kebab, Bharwan mushroom kebabs et al. The Bhutee ke kebabs were both soft and succulent. We didn't even regret our order of Murg malai tikka which had the perfect blend of cheese, fresh cream and lime. Health-
conscious ones can enjoy the healthy Iceberg lettuce salad with cucumber, tomato, spinach, mushrooms, corn, mint sprouts and watery veggies.

Naan and daal
It was time for main course, so we glanced again at the menu and selected regulars like Daal makhani, which was cooked well and the portions were good too. And we also experimented with Garlic naan. The Kadai paneer and Rarrah gosht teamed with Sabz biryani reminded us of our visit to Lucknow. We had a small conference with the waiter over what dessert to choose. He strongly recommended the fried ice cream which was nice minus the coconut covering on it. This place was cosy infused with yellow light and had aquariums to pep up the mood. The staff was friendly, helpful and actually hospitable. If you live nearby, it's a good place to go with family.
