What are the odds of a brewery being the venue for an environmental workshop? Very less, right? But Priyanka Amar Shah, founder of Ikheti, a four-and-a-half-year-old social enterprise has other ideas. "After my MBA, I realised that there was less awareness amongst people, mainly youngsters about herbs and its uses. I wanted to help people live a sustainable life," she explains, adding that she has lined up two workshops, this weekend - a kitchen garden workshop and an upcycle your bottle one. The sessions will be 30 minutes each.

"Not only will I teach you to plant these herbs but also how to put them to use in mocktails and cocktails. I will also provide tips on the food that can be infused with these herbs," she adds. When we ask about the choice of the venue, Shah reasons, "It's to make the weekend a little more exciting for the guests. Also, the kitchen gardening workshop includes making drinks while the second one includes old alcohol bottles, which will be converted to planters. They can be used in homes and office spaces. These air-purifying planters such as Spider Grass and Mother-in-law's Tongue help improve air quality, as suggested by NASA."

Shah informsus that the workshops are ideal for youngsters as well as adults. "Typically, adults are more passionate about gardening and know about it already. It's important for the youngsters to learn more about it.

Knowing about the environment has no age bar. So, as long as they understand it, they can help spread awareness."
