Down the High-way with Bob Dylan

Celebrate the journey of legendary singer Bob Dylan, through a performance by Shillong-based singer and showman Lou Majaw. Lou has been singing and performing Dylan's songs for quite a while and is known as a pioneer in organising the Bob Dylan Fest in Shillong.

He is a poet and believes that the performance is not just about singing covers, but it's about experiencing the songs. "I don't just sing, I feel it," says Lou emphatically. So, head to High Spirits today to experience a joyous ride through Lou's performance.

The gig will comprise compositions by Bob Dylan and some original numbers created by Lou's band, Great Society. The other band members are Barikyrpang Kharnaior, Rupert Nongkhlaw and Noel Karthak Lepcha.

You can choose from a selection of Daiquiris, Margaritas and Martinis which will be blended with popular fruits like kiwis, green apples, oranges or lemons.

Sorabh Pant along with his Punters from the Comedy Lab, are here to tickle your funny bone. The Comedy Lab is a secret lair which promotes young Indian comedians to break the trends of conventional comedy. His comedy night will be divided into two halves. The first half will be a mix of stand-up comedy and experimental comedy while the second act will be a laughing riot of unadulterated stand-up comedy.

Photographer Jay will be conducting a seven-day workshop on fine art photography for beginners and amateurs. This workshop will attempt to bring out the conceptual thinker behind the camera and will focus on mastering techniques on Digital SLR, understanding composition, aesthetics and the science of visual perception.

The main features of the workshop include understanding indoor and outdoor lighting, creative lens effects, depth of field, composition, colours, form and texture. It will also involve an outdoor shooting trip that will cover topics like nature, still life, portrait and night photography.
