Mood Indigo, India's largest campus festival, has donned Eastern robes for its 43rd edition at IIT-Bombay, in the light of 3,000 Korean lanterns and lots more

Mood Indigo (MI) seems to be growing bigger each year. The 43rd edition this time, organised by 700 people, is a power-packed combination of performances by the likes of Neal Morse Band featuring Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater drummer); Bollywood singer Papon from Assam; and popular UK EDM DJ Lange who is ranked as one of the top 10 DJs on the Beatport Trance Chart. To rev up the ambiance and the theme - Far East, a unique project will display over 3,000 lanterns across campus.

Korean lamps will bedeck the IIT Bombay campus this year as part of their Far East theme

Abhirath Sharma, media head informs, "10 Korean students will team up with IIT Bombay students to assemble these lanterns" to encourage interaction between both cultures. Other elements to keep the theme alive include a Korean Mask Dance, Taekwondo demonstration and workshop, Chinese Lion Dance along with an Indonesianu00a0Fan dance.

Continuing with the theme, the Lion Dance has been included as a feature to move away from the dragon dance, to showcase another integral facet of South East Asia.

The other major element of the this year's focus is on incorporating social networking as a part of the festival experience in a big way. Calling it India's largest Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) projects, Sharma informs, "With RFID, the entire experience will change where the user needs only a tap to post his status update or take pictures or play games. The MI Planner - a recently developed tool by the web team allows the user to select events that he wants to attend in a friendly user interface." Though app development in sync with the festivals, has been a trendy feat, Sharma stresses that Team Mood Indigo has developed a Windows app without any external help.
