'He did not care for my feelings...'

Dear Diana,
I have been in love with my classmate since my school days. We even went to the same college. As he was leaving for higher studies abroad, I decided to take a chance and tell him about my feelings for him. I couldn't stand the thought of not letting him know. What if he took a fancy to someone else abroad? I told him and he was happy that I had expressed my feelings. He told me to meet him in the night. I was excited as well as scared. But there was no way that I could miss this chance - it was what I had waited for years. As there was no one at his home, he got physical with me. Everything happened so fast. But what followed later came as a shock to me. He told me he was not interested in a relationship, especially a long-distance one. He got physical with me to make me happy as I had hid my feelings from him all these years. I was shocked, but I cannot forget him. Did I ruin our friendship by telling him about my feelings for him? I have been heartbroken.

Dear Aneeta,
You are better off without him in your life. He is an obnoxious guy - let him remain in your past. Though he left you a wreck, you have learnt your lesson. You have realised that he was a shallow person who did not care for your feelings. At the same time, if you had not confessed his feelings for him, you would have regretted it. Having done it, he has left you heartbroken. Despite the pain this guy caused you and left you miserable, you still seem to be pining for him. He is not worthy of your love - get this in your head. Time will heal your wounds. The next time be wary in love. Find someone who will reciprocate your love.
