Falguni Shane Peacock presented their street luxe collection inspired by the rising wave of modern street culture at the Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2023. The tailoring is an impression of sexiness and energy, combined with a new kind of chic coherence.

Bhumika Sharma’s ‘Retro Love’ has an aesthetic that uses a lot of prints overlaid with embellishments and embroideries, a signature of the brand.  This collection sees a definitive design language with an emphasis on colour palette and print development. 

On a daily basis, we oscillate between the spectrum of having it all and the other extreme of giving it away. When we talk about power it is often associated with a certain level of strength, discipline and a bit of lust but when willfully given away, there is a certain confidence that exudes calm. It’s also almost liberating to be powerless and not hold on to that control. Shweta Kapur’s ‘Collection 20’, is the narrative between these two extremes. 

An Indian menswear brand born out of the collaboration between designer Tarun Tahiliani and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. Tasva's wedding wear collection to embodies the essence of Indian culture and tradition, meticulously reimagined for the modern Indian man. 

Gauri and Nainika presented their Spring Summer 2024 collection with a delightful blend of timeless glamour and contemporary style. Adding to the allure of the runway, the models carried handbags by Caprese. Drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of vintage seed packet prints from the 1920s, their collection pays homage to their enduring love for bold florals, seamlessly merging them with classic motifs of French Toile du Jouy. 

Guapa’s collection is a  visual ode to the enchanting and unexpected contrasts of the desert oasis; earthy tones with contrasting bright hues, fluid hand-draped silhouettes paired with impeccably tailored pieces that channel your inner dessert queen. Sustainability is at the core of the designs. From extensively using biodegradable fabrics to reducing waste and up-cycling; the brand’s aim is to design stunning eco-conscious clothing.

Kalki presented ‘Zayra’. The brand’s vision for this collection transcends boundaries; it's an opulent journey where dreams are sewn into reality. In every detail, from the meticulous craftsmanship to the exquisite designs, designers have woven together a tale of sheer luxury and sophistication. The collection aims to make all those wearing a Kalki feel like a star.  

Abraham and Thakore’s collection ‘Body Language’ is largely black and white. Under this, numbers sit beside alphabets, which make friends with symbols, to form a syncretic language of their own. The result is a striking collection where playful typography is at the core. This theme is explored through the meticulous craftsmanship of ikat, ajrakh, brocades, badla, sequin, and fine laser cut work.

Verandah’s ‘Anjuna’ includes colours of brick and coral juxtaposed against the lush greens and blue azulejos tile work. The signature hand-painted prints depict the beauty of the old homes in Goa, something tourists in India tend to miss, in search of Goa’s sunny beaches.

‘Gulaal’ by Swati Vijayvargie showcased the essence of India’s artisanal heritage and values. Every piece in the collection narrates a tale woven with vibrant hues, intricate motifs, and the heartbeat of India’s diverse culture, architecture, and natural beauty.  

De Belle’s ‘Nazara’, derived from the Hindi word meaning ‘spectacle’ or ‘sight,’ features a subdued palette of dusky earthy tones, connecting us to our innate biophilic essence while Paulmi and Harsh’s ‘Ruh’ ‘Ruh’ employs motifs, regal colours gauzy materials and romantic lace. Inspired by classic literature such as Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice, the collection was born from the idea that there are soul connections that exist in this world, people who are connected, not just emotionally or physically but at a deeper, spiritual level. With this collection, Paulmi and Harsh explore the ethereal bonds that transcend time, place and societal boundaries- the connection between souls. 

Sanjukta Dutta’s new collection ‘SAPOON’, which means dreams, celebrates the beautiful emotion of creating joy through an artistic balance of playful elegance and harmony. A perfect offering, for traditional as well as contemporary buyers, replete with vibrant colours, a medley of Indian motifs and prints, and comprising of ethnic and indo-western wear, SAPOON boasts of a mélange of styles and simplicity. 

Sonam and Paras Modi’s ‘Safar’ draws inspiration from their expansive archives. Safar masterfully weaves together motifs and textures, breathing new life into the familiar. The collection embraces daring splashes of merlot and tantalising metallic accents that shimmer like stars in the night sky.

Infinity by Pawan Sachdeva represents endless potential, eternal beauty, and timeless style. It draws inspiration from the universe and the ever-expanding nature of human creativity. It is an expression of limitless style and innovation. Each piece in this collection encapsulates the idea that fashion knows no bounds. 

Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2023’s grand finale witnessed the presence of many Bollywood celebrities. It marked a collaboration between House of Lakme and New York-based designer, Bibhu Mohapatra.  Bibhu Mohapatra crafted a collection drawing Inspiration from the women in his life, The collection was a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary beauty and fashion.
