Several Indians have loved reading the tales of the bumbling Shikari Shambu or the ever-enterprising Suppandi in Tinkle comics. For their 35th anniversary issue, the makers have now come up with a contest titled, IdeaWhiz, where young readers can send in ideas for adventures of five of the popular characters.

These characters include Suppandi, Shikari Shambu, Tantri the Mantri, the Defective Detectives and Ina Mina Mynah Mo. The shortlisted ideas will be put to popular vote between July and August 10.
The winning idea for each toon will be turned into a comic story and featured in their anniversary issue. Pity it is only open for kids aged eight to 17, as we had almost started penning our own.
"We wanted children to be part of the anniversary issue by not merely outsourcing stories but as contributors. And children are great story-tellers," says Rajani Thindiath, editor, Tinkle comics and magazines.
