Sign up for a weekend camping experience where you can learn dyeing techniques and make natural colours too
If you love art and being one with nature, this camp is a must-visit. City-based travel company Mapping Journeys has curated creative camping expeditions in the past, which involve creative writing and board games. This edition will help you explore the world of natural food colourants (in pic above) and dyes.
The event has been organised in collaboration with The Insane Insaan, an initiative that brings together amateur artistes. Swetcha Poladi, who works on environment conservation projects, will conduct the workshop.

"We are always on the lookout for creative concepts to merge with our camping trips, be it photography or radio jockeying. This camp will give you a hands-on experience of making natural colours at home, and creating fabric dyeing patterns. It will include making Holi colours too. The campsite is close to a water stream and at the base of Manikgad," says Sneha Phalle, co-founder, Mapping Journeys.

The campsite, called Moksha Mantra, is located in Varsai, off Khopoli-Pen Road (a two-hour drive from the city) and comes equipped with its own swimming pool and rain dance arena.
The meals served at the camp, cooked by locals, will be wholesome Maharashtrian fare. And to end the day, you can gather around a campfire to toast marshmallows. The group leaves the next morning after a healthy breakfast.
