Podcast of the week: Our Last Week
Anuvab Pal and Kunal Roy Kapoor's 24-minute serio-comic podcast, Our Last Week had the duo ponder over the dominant conundrums of our society. Paperwork in India, the plight of the immigrant and the life of the freelancer were discussed very seriously, leaving us in splits, though.

Kapoor opened the show narrating the story of forgers who got out of jail by forging documents while inside. They then enter the Kafkaesque world of things written on paper in India, particularly those, which also have a stamp. "It is entirely possible for a man to come to a magistrate with his death certificate and get it cleared," they ponder and Kapoor adds that the magistrate could possibly ask him, "When did you die?"
The conversation then veered towards what could be the possible reason for Donald Trump's irritation with immigrants in a country full of immigrants. "Illegal immigrants," Kapoor points out. And they then agree on the conclusion that possibly the very fact that people crossed oceans on ships to reach land made the inhabitants lenient and allowed them to even rule over them.
The final blow, however, came for freelancers, a tribe they consider themselves a part of. "We are like people who squat in front of railway stations and are picked for just about any work," says Roy and Pal adds, "just that we work in different spheres."
