Co-directed and produced by Ashwiny and Nitesh, âBREAK POINT' is a 7-part series that will not only construct the epic tennis matches featuring the legendary tennis players - Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi but also deconstruct their relationship, both on and off the court. Apart from their accomplishments on the tennis court, the charismatic duo is known for their off-court lives and the public split which broke the heart of the nation.
In an interaction, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari shared how important this project has been to the entire team. "This is the first time Nitesh and I are co-directing together. We have worked with each other in various capacity but we are now finally directing together", informs Ashwiny. Elaborating further, she says, "I would like to thank Mahesh (Bhupathi) and Leander (Paes) for believing in us and telling their story as it is. For us, this is one of the biggest productions we have done across the world - from America to Australia, getting to speak to many champions in the world of Tennis".

"We are filled with gratitude because we could create this show during the pandemic and it gave us a lot of hope to keep praying for the wellbeing of all while we were working inside our homes. As Leander always says that for him it felt like a healing process as both of them looked at their life memories. We will cherish this experience for the rest of our life," concluded Ashwiny.

The impactful trailer of âBREAK POINT' has already stirred up a conversation, given that the tennis icons were among those instrumental in putting India on the map in the sports arena and were the most feared doubles pair during the late 1990s.
The seven-episode series will be exclusively available on ZEE5 on October 1st, 2021. The show shares a telling tale on friendship, partnership, brotherhood, ambition and hard work, the series also encapsulates their meteoric rise and highly publicized split that became a topic of heated speculation.
âBREAK POINT' marks ZEE5's first partnership with filmmakers, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Nitesh Tiwari under their banner Earthsky Pictures.
