The rampant rise of consumption of content through digital platforms has led to the birth of multiple OTT platforms. It has also led to audiences being able to access content from across the world. In the last couple of year, content backed by Bangladeshi OTT production has gained momentum in India. Shows from the Bangladeshi OTT platform 'Chorki' have also become pretty popular among the Bengali-speaking community in India.
As per reports on OTT Play, Chorki is set to enter the Indian market. The platform is working with a content team to create original shows for Chorki with an Indian cast and create. CEO of the platform, Redoan Rony said, "Bengali, as a language, is not just restricted within a country or a state. It is far bigger and more global than that. If we can bring talents from two Banglas - Bangladesh and West Bengal - together, we will get outstanding content that will enrich the global market. All the serious players collaborate. Hoichoi has it's set up in Bangladesh and is creating content. Similarly, we plan to collaborate with talents in Bengal."
"Chorki has been very popular in India. Shows like Pett Kata Shaw, Shaaticup, Myself Allen Swapan and others were very popular in India. The platform required subscribers to make payment with international cards making it inaccessible for several people.

Talking to OTT Play, Swastika expressed her excitement with the platform's launch in India. "I am a fan of Chorki. If I get a chance I would love to work with them," said the actress.
