Nehha Pendse on the sets of Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain
After her initial reluctance to be part of the show due to the long commute to Mira Road for the shoot, Nehha Pendse is now on board as Anita in the comic caper, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. On Thursday, the unit gave her a warm welcome on the set of Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli's production. Co-actors Aasif Sheikh, Shubhangi Atre and Rohitshav Gour organised a welcome bash. Anita was earlier portrayed by Saumya Tandon, who quit in August 2020 to explore new challenges as an actor.
Actress Saumya Tandon became a household name as Anita Bhabhi after the popular sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. Reports were doing the rounds that the actress was going to quit the show owing to the pandemic. In August, she confirmed that she had indeed quit the show, followed by which the makers replaced her with Nehha.
In a recent interview, Saumya, who is also best remembered as Roop from Jab We Met, expressed her views on being replaced by Nehha. She said, "I'm happy to hear this news. Nehha is a good choice. I have worked with her on a non-fiction show. While I hosted it, she performed gags in it. She is talented and professional. I am certain that she will do justice to the part. I have given my sweat, blood and heart to this character. I am glad she is portraying it."
She continued, "An actor's exit also plays a role in how well the viewer accepts the replacement. I exited the show on a good note. It was a mutual decision. There was no bad blood or animosity. Nehha is a fine actor and I am sure that the audience will accept her wholeheartedly."
