Parth Samthaan
Ever since Television czarina Ekta Kapoor announced the sequel to her very hit show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, the die-hard fans of the show have been getting curious to know who will be roped in for the lead roles. However, it seems like Ekta Kapoor's hunt ended at Erica Fernandes, who will play the titular female character Prerna, earlier essayed by Shweta Tripathi. Erica has also shot a teaser for the show.
Apart from this there were many names popping up to play male lead Anurag Basu's character, earlier portrayed by Cezanne Khan. From Shaheer Sheikh, Kushal Tandon, Ssharad Malhotra to Mohit Raina, several names were in the run. However, as per indianexpress.com Ekta Kapoor has zeroed down on young actor Parth Samthaan. Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot is about a young couple's love story and they need young faces, tweeted Ekta Kapoor.
Confirming Parth's name to play Anurag Basu, the source told the entertainment portal, "Ekta and the team had a tough time finding the perfect Anurag. A lot of actors were in contention but the rebooted show required a young face. After numerous look tests and auditions, the team finally zeroed on Parth. The actor was finalised last night and an official announcement will happen soon. While Erica has already shot for the first teaser, a promo with Hina and Parth will also be released soon."
The iconic character of antagonist Komolika by Urvashi Dholakia is rumoured to be played by Hina Khan.
