Barely three months after Amitabh Bachchan returned to the small screen to host a show celebrating India's real life heroes, there is buzz that the channel is contemplating pulling it off air. Sources say 'Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi', modelled after British reality show 'Tonight's The Night', has failed to garner high TRPs despite the theme and Big B's presence.

Says a source, "The channel had great expectations from the show - it had its heart in the right place and a superstar like Amitabh Bachchan was on board. However, the plummeting TRPs prove that it has not been able to engage the audience."

A few weeks after the show was launched, industry observers had been critical of its supposed monotonous presentation, while calling Sr Bachchan as its "only saving grace". "Though initially liked by the audience, it has miserably failed to generate expected TRPs. It is one of the most expensive shows produced by the channel, but they are planning to pull the plug on it," says an insider.
The channel spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.
