Sources say that casting for the show is already underway and several television actors have been approached for the show. The development comes close on the heels of Anil Kapoor premiering the Indian adaptation of 24 in the country.
Incidentally, actress Veebha Anand, too, was keen to sign the show but had to bow out after the dates of another project clashed with the making of the new programme. The crew is in the process of completing pre-production work and is likely to fly out to Delhi for the beginning of the first schedule.
Sources from the channel say that several changes in the script will be made to make the content suitable for Indian television viewers. Says an insider, "So far the channel is said to be planning to telecast the show on weekends.
The rights of the original show have been purchased. It will not just be about romance among doctors but will have a lot of references from the real-life medical world."
While Gaurav remained unavailable for comment, Himanshoo says, "I have been approached for the show but I am yet to sign it. The formal announcements will be made soon." Deepak Dhar, head of Endemol India and Uday Shankar, head of the channel remained unavailable for comment.
