In an interview with Screen Rant, Prabhas heaped praise on his 'Kalki 2898 AD' co-star Deepika Padukone and said, "She's the biggest superstar, the most beautiful lady, and she's already famous globally. I think she's doing Louis Vuitton, TAM AdEX, and the biggest international commercials. So, she's just vibrant when she comes into the set, and I always loved her. I wanted to work with her, this is the first time I'm working with her, so yeah."
Further shedding light on his character in the film, Prabhas said, "He's a superhero but he's really funny. I like that way Nagi designed it. I think he's the only funny guy in Project K. Nagi is very good with emotions and the film is strong with emotions. I am the only comedian in the film." The film is based on the Indian mythology of Mahabharata.
In the same interview, filmmaker Nag Ashwin also spoke about Deepika Padukone's characte in the film. "We still have to see Deepika's character fully, and then we will probably understand the reason why we cast her. Because it is an important character."

Directed by Nag Ashwin, 'Kalki 2898AD' promises to transport audiences to a world never seen before in Indian cinema. The film's premise, set in the distant future of 2898 AD, seamlessly blends futuristic elements with rich storytelling, offering an unparalleled and immersive cinematic experience. The movie had a grand launch at the recently concluded San Diego Comic Con.
At the comic con, while interacting with the audience at Hall H, Nag Ashwin spoke about Indian Gods and superheroes. He even mentioned how he grew up watching Mahabharata and Star Wars and he had to make a film which had best of both the worlds. Ashwin's excitement for Indian mythology was clear when one of the fans asked him a question about bringing mythology to the west, he said, "I just think we're on the shoulders of all this mythology and 100 years of cinema and actors, great movies. You love your superhero so much. And if you have Superman who can fly into space, we have Hanuman who can eat the sun. And then if you have Thor or a Hulk who can break a building, then we have Hanuman who can lift a mountain, or Kumbakaran who will lift the mountain."
