Geetha Govindam turns 5: Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda celebrate anniversary of hit Telugu film

Today marks the 5th anniversary of the hit Telugu film 'Geetha Govindam', starring Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda. Directed by Parasuram, the film became a massive commercial success, with the song ‘Inkem Inkem Kavale' turning into a chartbuster.

Rashmika expressed her astonishment at how quickly five years have passed since the film's release and shared her heartfelt appreciation for the fans across states for embracing the movie. She reminisced, "Even today, I am fondly addressed as ‘Geetha madam'. It feels surreal." The actress went on to attribute the film's success to her co-star, Vijay, and expressed deep gratitude to the director and the team at Geetha Arts for entrusting her with the role of 'Geetha'.

The film not only cemented its place as one of the pivotal works in both the actors' filmographies but also played a significant role in establishing Rashmika's presence in the Telugu film industry.

Vijay Deverakonda also took to Instagram to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Geetha Govindam with fans. The post featured Deverakonda in a crisp white ensemble as well as Rashmika Mandanna and Parasuram. Rashmika wore a stunning blush pink salwar suit, and Parasuram wore a simple black shirt and grey pants. All of them looked elated to be spending the anniversary together and held up 5 fingers, marking the release day.

Vijay said that the anniversary is even more special considering it was an Independence Day release. He wished his followers and fellow Indians a happy Independence Day and also said he was super excited to attend the Kushi concert!

On the horizon, Rashmika meanwhile, has several exciting projects lined up. She's set to share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor in 'Animal' and will feature in 'Pushpa 2', 'Rainbow', and 'D51' alongside Dhanush.
