Troye Sivan (L) and Hyunjin (R)
In a recent conversation, Troye Sivan couldn't resist praising Hyunjin, extolling him as 'super sweet,' 'really beautiful,' and a 'skilled dancer.' This admiration follows a TikTok video Sivan shared that showcased fan cam footage of Hyunjin, all set to his own tune, Rush. Interestingly, he humorously vowed not to publicly declare his affection for any K-pop star in the future, likely an allusion to the stir and conjecture that his prior post had ignited.
Back in May, the paths of Troye Sivan and Hyunjin intersected at Dua Lipa and Versace's 'La Vacanza' fashion spectacle in Cannes. The duo even snapped a selfie together at the function. Hyunjin turned heads, donning a chic beige ensemble with black trimmings, charming spectators with his aura and aesthetic fashion sense.

When prodded by the interviewer, Troye Sivan stated he'd jump at the chance to collaborate with Hyunjin. This sentiment has fueled fan speculation and hope for a possible joint venture, sparking animated discussion online. Further into the interview, Sivan revealed that his previous overtures towards Hyunjin had drawn death threats from certain K-pop fans. This revelation prompted an immediate reaction from STAYs, Stray Kids' fandom, expressing their disappointment and disapproval over some fans' behavior.
Troye had captioned the video in question with, "Anyone know how to reach this man :///"
Later, in a selfie video, he half-jokingly stated "That's the last time I publicly crush on a K-Pop star." as his new single Rush played in the background, the caption continued, adding, "I almost got murdered."
Death threats and delusional fans are not uncommon within Kpop fandoms. Intensely clinging to parasocial relationships with their idols, some fans believe that they are in romantic relationships with the idols or possess some exclusive right over them, leading them to lash out at fellow fans or even put the idol's privacy in danger. A recent instance of this was when such an obsessive fan, called a 'sasaeng' tried to get very close to BTS's Jungkook at the Incheon airport in Seoul.
In the meantime, Stray Kids broke new ground on July 21 by becoming the inaugural K-pop group to headline the Lollapalooza Festival in Paris. The octet left an indelible impression on the roughly 65,000 spectators at the Hippodrome ParisLongchamp. They put their exceptional talent, charm, synchronized moves, and rock-solid confidence on full display, proving why they're a force to reckon with on stage.
