BTS members Jin and Jungkook
The latest episodes of BTS Monument: Beyond The Star show clips of band member Jin shaving his head right before leaving for the military. The eldest member of Bangtan was the first to enlist in the South Korean military and is currently fulfilling his mandatory service. Leaving behind his life as a globally popular K-pop star, Kim Seokjin enlisted in December 2022, and is expected to be back in June this year.
In one of the newly released episodes, Jin is seen shaving his hair with the help of a stylist, while the other band members gather to look on. Min Yoongi aka Suga and Jungkook are spotted in the same room.
Jin keeps complaining about his hair lifting weirdly in the back, and also cries out a little as he sees the cut-off hair. He also wonders where the other BTS members are, as they had promised to be there with him.
"You are next in line," he tells Yoongi. As Jungkook saunters in, Jin exclaims he did not expect the Maknae to come at all. "I set an alarm to wake up and come here," Jungkook says.

"Serving in the military would take at least a year and a half to two years. That's about how long it would take. I wonder if that time apart will hold any meaning. In the past, it was important that we stayed together every day. But now that 10 years have passed... You don't have to always be together to be family. You're family as long as your hearts are one," Jin says.
BTS member J-hope was next after Jin to enlist in the military, followed by Suga and the rest four - RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook.
The episode also shows BTS member Kim Taehyung (V) talking about completing their military service and returning safely. "First of all, it's important that we safely complete our military service. I hope everyone comes back healthy. I think that will be a good start for our 'Take Two'. We worry about one another the more we're apart, so I hope no one gets hurt. After all of us come back, I hope we can make plans to continue to paint precious memories together with ARMY," V says.
