The makers of Saand Ki Aankh held a special screening at a preview theatre in Juhu, Mumbai. The event was attended by several celebrities which included Sonakshi Sinha, Aftab Shivdasani, Ananya Panday, Kartik Aaryan, Varun Dhawan and Vivek Oberoi. All Pictures/Yogen Shah
Zaher fame actress Udita Goswami also attended the screening. The actress, who recently embraced motherhood opted for a black long dress and high heels for the event.
Aftab Shivdasani and wife Nin Dusanj also graced the screening. The husband-wife duo twinned in their black t-shirts. The Masti actor recently completed 20 years in the film industry. Last seen in Setters in the mainstream cinema, the actor is now venturing into south Indian cinema with his new Kannada movie Kottigabba 3.
Ananya Panday looked drop-dead gorgeous in black shirt dress and shorts. She aced her look through her brown shoes and open hair.
The Student of the Year 2 actress joined the party with Sonakshi Sinha. The latter has been in the news ever since her first look poster from Dabangg 3 has released. The poster flaunted Sonakshi's character Mrs Chulbul Pandey, aka Rajjo's sass and swag.
Kartik Aaryan unleashed his uber-cool avatar donning a green printed t-shirt, black pants and shoes for the screening. Post the screening, the Lukka Chuppi actor took to Twitter to praise both Taapsee and Bhumi.
He called the film lovely, powerful and impactful. He also congratulated Saand Ki Aankh's debutant director Tushar Hiranandani for a solid debut. Kartik will be teaming up with Bhumi and Ananya Panday in Mudassar Aziz's Pati Patni aur Woh. The movie is an adaptation of the 1978 drama of the same name, which featured Sanjeev Kumar, Vidya Sinha and Ranjeeta Kaur in the lead roles.
Varun Dhawan and his family - parents David Dhawan and Kurana Dhawan and brother Rohit Dhawan joined the screening. The Dishoom actor opted for a black vest and red trousers for the events.
Taking to Twitter, the Dishoom actor praised the film's storyline. He tweeted: "Saand Ki Aankh is a beautiful film made by Tushar. Bhumi Pednekar, u are wow. Taapsee, u are superb. The entire cast take a bow. Nidhi tushar proud of u guys go watch it."
Talking about the movie, Saand Ki Aankh is based in the heartland of Uttar Pradesh and revolves around the Chandro (Taapsee Pannu) and Prakashi (Bhumi) who take up shooting at the age of 50 to encourage their daughters towards a bright future.

Despite all odds, they won 352 medals each in the course of their veteran professional life as shooters. The film will also be screened as the closing film at the ongoing 21st Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. Seems, Siddharth Malhotra, Shaad Randhawa, and Rohit Dhawan loved the film are engrossed in discussing about it.
Vivek Oberoi also attended the screening in his traditional attire. This is the first time, Taapsee and Bhumi will be sharing screen space together. In an interview, director Tushar Hiranandani wasn't an easy film to make. "I saw them on Aamir Khan's Satyamev Jayate. I had tears in my eyes when Chandro dadi said 'Tann buddha hota hai, mann buddha nahi hota hai'. I told Nidhi [Parmar, producer wife] that I will tell their story to the world", he said.
"I have attempted every genre and I've enjoyed writing them all. As for Saand Ki Aankh, it wasn't an easy film to make. The casting was an insurmountable challenge. Taapsee and Bhumi were the only two actors who had the balls to say yes to this film," he added.
