Atlee's directorial starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead was released in theatres on September 7. The film has been breaking several records at the box office and is expected to break the records set by SRK's 'Pathaan' which was released earlier this year. On Friday, a week after the film's release, the team of the film held a press meet to celebrate the success of the film. At the press meet, film editor Rueben shared his experience of working with the superstar.

Ruben recalled what Shah Rukh Khan told him when the film was on the edit table and required some scenes chopping. When the moderator asked Ruben how he felt when SRK told him to chop his scene and keep more of Vijay Sethupathi and the girls' scenes, the editor said, "For a star like Shah Rukh, he is the producer, he can take any control over the film. But he was very generous to say, ‘Please cut my scenes and please give it to the other actors, give it to the girls, give it to the villain.' He wanted more scenes of the villain."

Ruben shared that he usually avoids getting friendly with the actors as he gets "uncomfortable" when they try to take over his job under the name of friendship. But with Shah Rukh, it was different. "He was very easy to interact with. Every time I interacted with him, I learnt something new. It's nothing about cinema. I learnt how to be more patient."

The film's dialogue writer Sumit Arora also had an "enriching" experience of working on Jawan. He found it exciting to give a twist to Shah Rukh Khan‘s punch lines. The first dialogue that Sumit cracked for the film, which he thought was his first "good" line, was, ‘Jab main villain banta hoon na toh koi hero mere saamne tikta nahi.' Sharing his experience of working on Jawan, Sumit said, "It was a challenge for me because it was a film where Shah Rukh sir is presented in a new light, and I felt it was a great opportunity to do something new. Even the dialogue, ‘Naam toh suna hoga," which you have heard romantically, this time comes with a different swag. It was an interesting process to write in a new way for Shah Rukh sir, and even for Kaali Gaikwad (Vijay Sethupathi) who is such a strong villain and, for the girls. It was a challenge for me to write the same punchy lines in a new way. I have learnt writing while being on the set with the director. Jawan has been an enriching experience."
