Since the day the official teaser of Akshay Kumar's forthcoming film, OMG 2, was unveiled, the film has been mired in controversy. The theme of the Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi film, which apparently deals with sex education, has caused quite a stir.
While the first-look posters and official teaser for OMG 2 are now available, Akshay Kumar fans and netizens are eagerly awaiting the release of the official trailer. According to the Times of India, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the OMG 2 trailer a 'U/A' certificate. The CBFC, which has mandated 20 cuts in the film, has insisted on 'changing' Akshay Kumar's role.
For those who are unaware, Akshay Kumar plays Lord Shiva in OMG 2. The trailer will be released one week before the film's scheduled release date. The teaser for OMG 2 is being presented in theatres with the caption "Awaiting Certification." As of today, the film is set to be released on August 11.
OMG 2, the sequel to Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal's 2012 superhit satire comedy OMG - Oh My God!, would reportedly centre on sex education. According to the TOI article, combining Lord Shiva's religious aspect with sex education might potentially offend viewers' religious emotions. Reportedly, the film has a masturbation scene.

Amidst the demand for changing Akshay Kumar's character in the film, the reports of OMG 2 getting postponed are also making headlines. According to the creators, the number of edits and the 'U/A' certificate for the trailer will damage the substance of the picture since they feel the theme of sex should be seen by people of all ages.
A source close to TOI confirmed the same, "The makers are of the opinion of shifting the release date from August 11 as they want to fight against the changes suggested by the committee and also line up proper promotion of the film."
Directed by Amit Rai, OMG 2 stars Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi, Arun Govil, Govind Namdeo, and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in âSelfiee' alongside Emraan Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha.
