Ranveer Singh is enjoying the success of his recently released film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. The film has set the box office on fire globally. The actor played the role of Rocky Randhawa, a brat from Delhi. Ranveer has been credited for improving his dialogues on the spot and enhancing his performance by incorporating additional dialogues too. Now, amid Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's successful run at the box office, an old interview of Ranveer went viral on Reddit.
In the interview with Film Companion in 2022, Ranveer said director Karan Johar wanted to give him credit for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani's additional dialogues. However, he politely declined it. Reddit users felt he took a sly dig at Kangana Ranaut who got the additional dialogue credit for Queen.
Ranveer said in the interview, "He (Karan Johar) said I will give additional dialogue credit (for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani). But I was like 'No no I don't want that'. It's our (actors') responsibility to take something and better it. If you can't, what are you doing there. So, I don't want any additional dialogue credit. I know there are some actors who have taken it, but this is not my style."
Is he shading Kangu? Or somebody else?

Kangana, who played the lead role in Queen, was also a dialogue writer for the film. Reportedly, director Vikas Bahl allowed the actress to add her own dialogues to make the film more realistic. Apart from that, the actress also got additional sequences like the kiss scene with the Italian chef and a small scene where Rani asks a stranger to click her picture in Amsterdam added to the film later. In an interview with Live Mint, Kangana said, "During Queen, when Vikas (Bahl) told Anurag Kashyap that Kangana has written most of her dialogue, and he said, wonderful, she should get the credit, I had said, what will I do with the credit? They said, why not?"
In 2017, the poster of Kangana's film Simran credited her as an 'additional story and dialogue writer'. Apurva Asrani, who wrote the film, wasn't happy with it. He was credited as a 'story, screenplay and dialogue writer' but his name appeared after Kangana. While he had no problem with her being named as the 'additional dialogue writer', Apurva wasn't in favour of sharing credits as co-writer. Reacting to the matter, Kangana said in her Live Mint interview, "I wasn't happy with the writer's (Apurva Asrani's) work. Apurva's first instinct was to make it a thriller along the lines of The Wolf Of Wall Street (2013), with a drug-addiction backdrop. We pursued it for some time, but then we collectively decided that it's not the script (we wanted)."
