How did Kaagaz happen to you?

I was working with a leading television production house when I decided to take a break from it to concentrate on feature films and joined my uncle's company Satish Kaushik Production. It has been a progressive journey so far. I produced many interesting movies like School Chalega with CFSI. ‘Chhoriyaan Chhoron se kam nahi hoti' won the Best Producer award in a sub-category. I did a Marathi feature film titled ‘Mann Udhaan Vara which was widely appreciated.
The concept of Kaagaz was my uncle's idea. Also, the performances did justice to the story. Working with Pankaj Tripathi was a magical experience. Besides being a brilliant actor, he has an easy-going temperament which would make shooting tough scenes easy.

How did Salman Khan's association help the film?

It definitely helped the prospects of the film by having Salman Sir on board. He believed in the film and was impressed with the storyline and hence decided to produce it. Having a name like his, believe in your concept and support it wholeheartedly is an achievement in itself. I will forever be thankful to him for his kind gesture. I would definitely want to pitch in more concepts to him in near future and would want our association to continue. I would love to join hands with him and make brilliant cinema.

What future plans do you have for the company?

Kaagaz has given a jump-start to the production house and things are looking promising. Besides realistic cinema, we also want to do comedy and thrillers. We have just acquired the rights of a South hard core action movie and are locking in on the star cast. We have also acquired the rights to books and getting the star cast in order for them. You can expect some interesting announcements in the coming days.

I am on 7^th heaven being associated with a film like Kaagaz which has reached the heart of the Indian masses. I was the first person to see the rough cut of Kaagaz and was deeply moved by the film. In fact, I told Satish Sir that this was going to be his best film ever. The film has now been released and my prediction has come true. I must thank Superstar Salman Khan and his company Salman Khan Films to believe in his dream & vision to make Kaagaz with equal zeal and passion. I can't believe that Kaagaz released in more than 190 countries courtesy Zee5's vast reach across the globe . I thank Monal Gajjar who is getting introduced in Hindi movies for her brilliant performance in the movie with other stellar actors. And of course, no other actor could have done the role of Bharat Lal Mritak as brilliantly as Pankaj Tripathi. His amazing performance and Satish Sir's superb direction has made Kaagaz the first big success of 2021 .
