Arjun Mathur and Rasika Dugal
'Lord Curzon Ki Haveli', starring Arjun Mathur, Rasika Dugal, Tannishtha Chatterjee and Parambrata Chatterjee, was scheduled to go on floors in Kent, UK, last March. A year and two ravaging waves of pandemic later, director Anshuman Jha says that the black comedy stands indefinitely postponed. Recounting how he had to pull the plug on the schedule as Covid-19 cases surged in the UK last March, the director says, "We were to leave on March 16 last year. I was in London in the last week of February, and during my return to India, I saw the deserted airports and knew things would go downhill from there. We understood that [conducting] a schedule at such a time wasn't feasible, and the last thing we wanted was to get stuck [in Kent]."
With cases on the decline in early 2021, Jha had once again dived into preparation for the satire's shoot. He had drawn up an elaborate shoot for August and September, after securing combination dates of his actors. "But it looks more and more difficult now," says a dejected Jha, before adding, "I can't shoot the film anywhere except the UK. The project stands pushed till things get better. The last 12 months have taught me so much. I have lost my parents. When the film is meant to happen, it will."
