As the fate of single-screen theatres "hangs by a thread'', megastar Amitabh Bachchan encouraged individuals to remember the contribution of projectionists to Indian cinema. In a video message shared with Mumbai-based Film Heritage Foundation, he said, "The world of a projector, a beam of light in a dark room theatre, and flicker of images on the big screen - That was, what cinema was for me. As the fate of single-screen cinemas, unfortunately, hangs by a thread, many of these projectionists have lost their livelihood. It is important to remember and recognise their immense contribution to the history of Indian cinema." He was pleased that the foundation had instituted a Lifetime Achievement Award for Cinema Projection.

Mona Singh, who has been receiving praise for her act in her latest show, Kafas, says the medium of OTT has proved to be beneficial for writers to craft brave and compelling stories. In the process, it has also uplifted the industry, she adds. Speaking about how digital entertainment has changed the rules of the game by bringing unheard stories and novel content on the platter for the audience, she said: "OTT has proven to be extremely fulfilling for writers, and in turn, the whole industry. Today, we as actors have good stories and meatier roles to work on. OTT has shown the way forward and has changed our way of content consumption and production. Now, we are telling brave stories with unconventional settings. The stories that wouldn't have seen the light of day on television or on the big screen are now being made, and actors too are getting great opportunities to portray those characters."
