Saira Banu with late husband Dilip Kumar
Saira Banu's Instagram account has become a treasure trove for fans who get a peek into her marriage with the late Dilip Kumar through her heart-warming pictures and anecdotes. Recently, she shared some images with the thespian from one of their monsoon outings. Saira recalled that Yusuf saab not only loved the rains, but in fact, he had proposed to her on a rainy night. She reminisced, "Many years ago, as we walked by Juhu Beach in the quiet of a wondrous night, there was a sudden downpour. He took off his jacket and protectively draped it around my shoulders. That was the magical night that we sat in his car and he asked me, âWill you marry me?'" Saira had earlier written that her purpose to join social media was to share lesser-known facets of the late legend with his legion of fans.
You could blame the Adipurush fiasco for the Central Board of Film Certification's extra-cautious ways since then. Recently, Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, which stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, was issued the censor certificate after the board's recommended changes were carried out. We hear the Hindi expletive âb&'#$@%!', which initially featured multiple times, has been replaced with âbehen di'. The usage of âLok Sabha' in a dialogue and another line about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have been completely removed. The name of an alcohol brand was changed to âBold Monk', while a certain word in the scene featuring a portrait of Rabindranath Tagore was replaced with âkoi filter'. What's more, for a scene in a lingerie store, the word âbra' was replaced by âitem'. After all, RARKPK, which also features Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, is being promoted as a family film, no?

Allu Arjun recently attended the success meet of Anand Deverakonda's film, Baby. Fans, who had thronged the venue, demanded that he share something from his eagerly-awaited film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. In the trademark style of his on-screen character Pushparaj, Arjun said, "Eedantha jarigedi okate rule meeda jarugutaanadadi, Pushpa gadi rule," meaning "Everything here will be dictated by one rule, and that is Pushpa's rule." That was enough to send the huge crowd into a tizzy. In April, the makers shared a teaser and poster, which has heightened anticipation around the action drama.
After their reported Goa outing the previous week, Ibrahim Ali Khan and Palak Tiwari were spotted on a movie date over the weekend. Though the duo arrived at the Juhu multiplex separately, they were said to be catching a screening of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's latest offering, Barbie. After the film, Ibrahim and Palak opted to exit alag-alag. She forgot her jacket in a hurry, so he carried it along to give it to her later and was snapped by the waiting photographers. As he walked out, he was overheard telling a friend on his phone, "Media ekdum moonh mein ghus gayi hai." Guess he needs to learn the art of media relations from actor-sister Sara Ali Khan, before the paps start giving him the royal ignore. No?
Aditya Roy Kapur and Ananya Panday continue to make headlines. After their multiple pictures from their romantic getaway made their way to social media, the two actors, who are back in the bay, were spotted driving around on Saturday night. Never mind that it was pouring, it is well-known that there is something romantic about Mumbai ki baarish. Adi and Ananya seemed engrossed in conversation when the paparazzi spotted them. She tried to hide her face from the cameras. Even when they returned from their vacay last week, the two were blushing on seeing the shutterbugs.
We hear that Samantha has taken about six months off work to attend to her health issues. The actor has had a hectic year promoting Yashoda and Shaakunthalam, and shooting her next, Kushi with Vijay Deverakonda, and the action thriller series Citadel. It is being said that Sam, who is undergoing treatment for myositis, is not signing any new project for the next few months. Industry sources say this decision will see her suffering losses of about R12 crore as she charges R3.5 crore to R4 crore per film, and an appropriate fee for endorsements. According to a source, "Sam wants to be in great shape as 2024 is going to be a big year for her with the release of Citadel and some big announcements."
