Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham
Finally, it's official. Shah Rukh Khan announced yesterday that his next, Pathaan, backed by Yash Raj Films, will open in cinemas on January 25, 2023. The teaser sees John Abraham and Deepika Padukone introducing King Khan's character. The superstar, however, is only seen in a silhouette, making a blink-and-miss appearance. Much before the Pathaan announcement, three movies were slated to open during the upcoming Republic Day weekend - Luv Ranjan's yet-untitled film with Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, Siddharth Anand's Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, and John's Tehran, produced by Dinesh Vijan. Interestingly, Ranjan bowed out of the clash late Monday evening, rescheduling his film to March 8 next year, coinciding with Holi. That leaves Fighter and Tehran in a three-way clash with Pathaan. Considering it marks SRK's return to the screen after over four years, it's a foregone conclusion that YRF won't budge. Moreover, since Pathaan and Fighter are directed by Siddharth Anand and feature Deepika, he will have to reschedule his aerial action thriller with Hrithik. And John, too, can't have two releases - Pathaan and Tehran - on the same day. So naturally, Dinesh Vijan might have to look for another suitable date for his action thriller, that is inspired by a true event. Eventually, SRK-John-DP's Pathaan could very well end up as the solo release of that weekend. Talk of bulldozing the competition.
Bhumi Pednekar has a new âBeau' in her life. Before you wonder who, let us tell you that it's her new pet toy poodle. The Badhaai Do actor got him home a couple of months ago, but she chose to introduce him to the world only yesterday. "We've finally welcomed a new family member - Beau Pednekar. His energy has changed our lives. He has made me kinder and more compassionate. My love for animals has only gone deeper since beau happened to us," wrote Bhumi, while sharing some pictures with Beau. On the work front, the actor has six films in various stages of pre-and post-production.

Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira joined in the celebrations of his sister Sanah Kapur's wedding with Mayank Pahwa, son of Seema and Manoj Pahwa, in Mahabaleshwar on Tuesday.
The bride's cousin Vivaan Shah shared some pictures online, in which he tagged the couple, writing, "Photos from the Chooda ceremony."
While Sasha and Mira can be seen in the big family picture, another has the bride's parents Pankaj Kapur and Supriya Pathak with Ratna Pathak and Naseeruddin Shah. One of the images also has Vivaan's brother Imaad with Sanah and Mayank. The nuptials took place yesterday.
He may not have bagged the Bigg Boss 15 trophy, but Karan Kundrra has emerged as a winner in the end. Not only did he find romance, he also seems to have picked up a few projects after the controversial reality show. Sources claim that the actor has been roped in to be the jailor in Ekta Kapoor's Lock Upp. As he joins another show centred on a similar theme, we wonder if Karan will be invited on Salman Khan's show again.
The release of Prithviraj, starring Akshay Kumar in the titular role, has been advanced by a week. YRF, the producers of the historical drama, which marks former Miss World Manushi Chhillar's debut, have announced June 3 as the new release date. Interestingly, Boney Kapoor had already booked the same date for his next, Maidaan, fronted by Ajay Devgn. While this development sets up an Akshay-Ajay clash at the box office, it has created a new dilemma for the producer. Boney already had to reschedule the release of his period sports drama a few times in the last two years due to the pandemic, before locking June 3. Last year, he was miffed with SS Rajamouli for scheduling RRR, in which Ajay has a cameo, on October 13, 2021, which he had reserved for Maidaan. It remains to be seen how he resolves this clash as his son Arjun Kapoor's work is managed by YRF's talent division.

Sanjay Kapoor is on a roll. Recently seen in The Fame Game starring Madhuri Dixit-Nene, the actor has bagged his next project. He has been signed on for Sriram Raghavan's Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi. The film went on floors last December. Though not much is known about Sanjay's role in the film, we hear that it's a pivotal part with several layers. The actor is slated to begin shooting his portions this month.
