Shah Rukh Khan in Pathaan
Shah Rukh Khan turned 57 yesterday and unlike the fan frenzy outside his home, reportedly brought in his special day rather quietly. The superstar and wife Gauri hosted their close friends, including directors Siddharth Anand, Farah Khan, Maneesh Sharma, and Harman Baweja. In their trademark style, the Khans had a lavish dinner spread for their guests. SRK showcased the teaser of Pathaan, directed by Siddharth, to his guests. Around midnight, King Khan cut the cake and the celebrations, including some games, went on till the wee hours. As the teaser was unveiled yesterday, the film's director Siddharth said, "SRK truly has been ruling the hearts and minds of audiences for decades and Pathaan marks his return to the big screen after a gap of four long years. So, while we decided to surprise them all on his birthday, the pressure to deliver was immense." Asserting that Pathaan is not just a movie, the filmmaker added, "It is an emotion as we are aiming to make the biggest action spectacle with one of the all-time biggest on-screen icons that Indian cinema has ever seen."
mid-day had reported about Shikhar Dhawan making his acting debut with Double XL (Shikhar makes his film debut, October 12). Now, we hear that former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev also has a cameo in the Sonakshi Sinha and Huma Qureshi-starrer. Reportedly, the legendary cricketer plays himself in a sequence with Huma. Apparently, her character aspires to become a sports presenter and as part of her assignment, gets an opportunity to interact with the cricketer.

After weeks of speculation about her wedding, Hansika Motwani is now engaged. The Maha actor shared pictures of fiance Sohael Kathuria going down on one knee to propose to her, with the Eiffel Tower in backdrop. "Now and forever," she wrote alongside the images. While he commented, saying, "I love my life," her post was soon flooded with congratulatory messages. Hansika and Mumbai-based entrepreneur Sohael have been best friends and also business partners for several events in the past. The couple is expected to tie the knot on December 4 at Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Rumour has it that Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra Jonas exited from the Mumbai international airport around the same time on Tuesday morning. While the Ram Setu actor was returning from London, the Baywatch heroine was flying down from the US. Almost a year since the release of his debut film, Tadap, Ahan Shetty has reportedly signed his second outing. This time around, it is an action flick to be helmed by a south director. While details of the project are being kept under wraps, sources claim the young actor has begun prepping for it. "Ahan will begin shooting for his second film in early 2023," says the source. After an underwhelming debut, the actor is hopeful that his second film will open new avenues for him. The yet-untitled movie will be shot across India and overseas.

While India and the Indian diaspora is going gaga over Rishi Sunak becoming the UK Prime Minister, Shekhar Kapur had interacted with him long before he entered the race. Sharing a picture from Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's concert with his sons Ayaan and Amaan, the filmmaker wrote, "Who knew the charming guy at the back of the picture was the future Prime Minister of the UK! If this picture was taken now, he would be right in front." Shekhar added, "Well done Rishi, hang in there. Your becoming PM is no less than when Obama became President of the US."
During a promotional appearance for their maiden collaboration Mili on Kapil Sharma's show, Boney Kapoor revealed that he has scolded his daughter Janhvi Kapoor only once. Recalling her ordering a grilled fish with no butter during a family holiday in New York, the veteran producer said, "I was like, what's the fun of having fish without butter? She started dieting at the age of 13 and sometimes people used to pull her leg. She was never fat, but just healthy. Because of that she started dieting and I used to be stressed." Boney shared that whenever they went out, Janhvi would always pick a restaurant where she would get her diet food.
