Sunny Deol; JP Dutta with daughter Nidhi
So much so that a sequel to a superhit, much older than Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, is now on the cards. This time around, the makers of the 1997 blockbuster Border are planning another instalment. Over the last few years, veteran filmmaker JP Dutta and his producer daughter Nidhi have been discussing the possibility of taking off from their successful retelling of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. Only recently did things begin to fall into place. Never mind the coincidence, but the makers have decided to bring to the big screen another lesser-known story from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Reportedly, talks with a studio are in advanced stages, and the makers are looking to finalise things so they can make an official announcement soon. Sunny will lead the Border sequel, which will also feature younger and newer actors joining his mission to defeat the enemy and emerge triumphant. Scripting is slated to begin soon after the paperwork with the studio is complete.
Weeks after announcing her foray into production, Kriti Sanon kicked off her maiden venture, Do Patti, co-starring Kajol. Sharing a picture with co-producer Kanika Dhillon and director Shashank Chaturvedi, the actor-producer wrote, "Do Patti begins." Slated for release directly on Netflix, the film is set against the backdrop of the hills of north India.

Bhagya Lakshmi actor Akash Choudhary was recently hired for a fashion event where he was to share space with a soon-to-debut star kid. Barely a few days before the event, the team asked Akash to share his look reference, which he did. He was then asked to tone down his appearance and avoid high fashion. While he obliged, he later learnt that it was at the behest of the star kid's team, so he doesn't steal the limelight from her. While the star kid had her way at this event, we wonder how she will gear up for the actual competition after her big debut, if she cannot even back up her performance with actual talent and draw.
Imran Khan is in the news once again. When the actor made his return to social media by saying he would make a comeback for one million likes, a content creator took a dig at him, saying that Imran was seeking validation to return to the movies. The actor, last seen in Katti Batti (2015), clarified his stance, saying, "The truth is, it was never about a million likes. I picked the number because it seemed unattainable, and since it would never happen anyway, I could just quietly retreat again, no questions asked. I didn't count on all of you picking it up and carrying it forward. After all this time, I didn't think anyone would still care enough to reach out and tell me they believed in me. Your love humbles me." Soon enough, a netizen reacted to his post, demanding that Imran return the money his fans paid to watch Kidnap and Luck. Imran coolly responded, "They [producers] never cleared my final payment on that film, so maybe we can all take the issue up with them?" Wonder what the producers have to say about that now.
