Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Actress Swastika Mukherjee, who is known for her work in Bengali and Hindi cinema, faced polling woes during the 7th phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Saturday. The actress took to her Instagram and shared a video in which she spoke about how she couldn't cast her vote.
The actress called it a "frustrating experience" as both she and her sister were unable to cast their votes. While Swastika had lost her voting card, her sister, despite having a voting card couldn't exercise her right to vote.
The actress said that she lost her mother in 2015 and her father in 2020, and although both her parents have passed away yet their names are on the list. People, who are staying in the building as hers and even those who have left the society have their names on the voting list. She also shared that she has decided to take up the matter and seek answers from the authorities.

The seventh and final phase of polling in the largest festival of democracy started on Saturday as voting started in the 57 parliamentary constituencies of seven states at 7 am. The seven states are Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Polling for the remaining 42 Assembly Constituencies of the Odisha State Legislative Assembly is also taking place. The seventh phase marks a grand finish to the world's largest polling marathon that began on April 19 and has already covered six phases and 486 Lok Sabha seats.
Swastika is the daughter of veteran Bengali actor Santu Mukherjee. She has worked in numerous Bangla hits, and Bollywood films such as âDil Bechara' and âDetective Byomkesh Bakshy!', as well as the web series âPaatal Lok'. She was last seen in 'Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2'. It is directed by the visionary filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and explores the multifaceted realities of the internet age. It invites viewers to embark on a journey through the digital landscape, where love knows no boundaries and influencers reign supreme.
