It was an emotional moment for the Sharmaji Namkeen team as they reunited to shoot the film's last leg this week. Rishi Kapoor, who played the central character in the movie, passed away on April 30 last year. Following his demise, Paresh Rawal stepped in to complete the remaining portions of the film, which also features Juhi Chawla and Satish Kaushik.
Rawal has resumed the shoot at a Goregaon school. A source reveals, "While Pareshji and Satishji had filmed some portions in March, the shoot had to be put on hold due to the second lockdown in the state. Now, some pivotal scenes are being filmed at the school.
Director Hitesh Bhatia has charted out a week-long schedule, post which it will be a wrap on the movie." The makers are hoping to release the comedy, which revolves around a 60-year-old who discovers the joy of life post-retirement, on Kapoor's birth anniversary on September 4.
Excel Entertainment, which is backing the film, remained unavailable for comment.
