Celebrated music composer A.R Rahman expressed his admiration for R. Madhavan's film, 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,' which recently bagged the Best Feature Film award at the 69th National Film Awards. Taking to Twitter, Rahman said, "Congrats Madhavanâ¦.I still remember the impact of your movie watching at Cannesâ¦.have to confess now (great timing)⦠I liked yours better than #Oppenheimer."
Rahman's tweet incorporated a snapshot of a previous post wherein he reviewed 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' after a Cannes screening, stating, "Just watched #Rocketrythenambieffect at Cannes ..Take a bow @ActorMadhavan for bringing a new voice to Indian cinema #changeishere #respecttoIndianscientists."

Reacting to the National Awards announcement, R. Madhavan, both the director and star of 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,' shared an emotional moment on social media. Posting a picture alongside his mother, Madhavan wrote, "Wish you the Happiest Birthday yet Amma.. All yours, Appa's and Nambi Sirs Blessings. A Heartfelt "Thank You" to all the jury members of the National Award⦠I don't know what to say. For once Truly speechless."
In a conversation with News18, Madhavan expressed his joy at the overwhelming response and acclaim that the film was receiving internationally., "Five years of agony, pain, blood and sweat vanished in that one second when we called Nambi Sir and saw his face this morning. I'm very grateful to the audience, the jury and to the public for the kind of recognition we have got."
Nambi Narayanan, the former ISRO scientist whose life inspired the film, shared his delight with ANI, stating, "I am really happy and I have no words to express my happiness...I am doubly happy."
'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' chronicles the life of Nambi Narayanan, an ISRO scientist wrongfully accused of espionage and arrested in 1994. The controversial ISRO spy case revolved around allegations against Narayanan and another prominent scientist, D Sasikumaran, suggesting they leaked crucial ISRO documents. The scandal even implicated former chief minister K Karunakaran. However, after a two-year probe, CBI exonerated Narayanan, pointing fingers at state police and certain intelligence officials for the baseless accusations.
Oppenheimer revolves around the life of theoretical physicist Robert J. Oppenheimer who developed the atomic bomb that wreaked havoc on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Christopher Nolas-directed film stars Cilian Murphy in the lead.
