Mr. Bachchan along with Mrs. Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan came to see her off after the meeting. Amid heavy security, Ms. Banerjee spoke to the media present outside Jalsa. The Bachchan family was dressed in traditional outfits whereas the Chief Minister of West Bengal wore a white cotton saree with a blue and mustard yellow border.
According to ANI's report, Mr. Bachchan had invited Ms Banerjee home for tea during her Mumbai visit. Reportedly, the West Bengal CM shares a good relationship with Mr. and Mrs. Bachchan. A source close to the development had informed the agency, "Although not officially, but from Bengal, we will raise this demand to honour Amitabh Bachchan with the Bharat Ratna award for his contribution to Indian cinema for such a long time."
Mrs. Jaya Bachchan, an actor and MP, campaigned for Ms Banerjee's party, Trinamool Congress, in the run-up to the 2021 Assembly elections. In 2022, Mr. Bachchan attended the inaugural function of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) where the CM demanded that he be accorded the country's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna, for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Workwise, Mr. Bachchan was seen in Uunchai last year and did a cameo in his son's film Ghoomer. He has films like Ganapath: Part 1, The Umesh Chronicles, and Kalki 2898 AD to name a few. Reportedly, he will be doing a project with Shah Rukh Khan too.
