Recently, commenting on the rising popularity of south films in the Bollywood-ruled north India, Ajay Devgn suggested that the reason behind the success of non-Hindi movies is a pan-India promotional strategy. Devgn, who featured in a pivotal role in the pan India film RRR, said filmmakers from the south promote their films to a wider audience. "It's not that films from [the north] are not going [to the south]. Nobody has attempted to release a film from the north in the south on a big scale. If someone will try it in future, it will definitely happen, because their films are good, and are doing well. Our films too are working. If they have to release the films in the north, they take actors from the north also and they plan the script accordingly so as to make it work [for a] pan-India audience."
