Saif Ali Khan shuttles between his new and old home, which is on the same street in Bandra, with his security in tow after the Tandav controversy.
Speaking about Tandav, the popular show is a nine-episode political thriller, which started streaming earlier this year, but the show landed in a huge controversy over its depiction of Hindu deities. Tandav, starring actors Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Sunil Grover, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Dino Morea, Kumud Mishra, Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan, and Kritika Kamra, premiered on Friday. Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar has created, directed, and co-produced the political drama.
The controversy that ruled the headlines for quite some time had a scene in the web series where one of the actors, Zeeshan Ayyub is shown at the centre of the row, in the role of college student Shiva, playing the Hindu god Mahadev in a theatre production. In an official statement, the team reiterated that they had no intention to hurt anyone's sentiments.
Saif Ali Khan resumed work in October when he flew to Dharamshala for the first schedule of Bhoot Police, a horror-comedy in which he plays a ghostbuster. The actor will be seen in Bunty Aur Babli 2, the dubbing of which he wrapped up in early October. He also has Adipurush lined up for a 2022 release where he will be seen playing a menacing villain.
